La Vie is thrilled to offer this wonderful class with our favorite Master of Wine and friend, Ashley Hausman Lohmer, owner of So What Wine!

What are essential wines?  In this class, we have you covered no matter what the occasion this December.  We will taste some of the season's best values so you can impress guests (and not break the bank), a couple age-worthy bottles that will make any wine lover swoom, we will taste a divine, sweet wine that has a lot of flexibility with holiday dessert pairings, and we will share a spectacular sparkler worthy to ring in the new year!  A couple cheese nibbles and sweet treats will put these wines to the test.  We also will give you a little info on how to navigate wine lists this time of year, whether your family puts you in charge or you are taking out clients.  It can be an intimidating task!  In this class you will learn, discover, and enjoy wine for wine's sake.

Light nibbles provided.  Class tends to sell out, please register early!

A Little About Our Instructor and So What Wine

Ashley Hausman Lohmer (Master of Wine and owner of So What Wine) got her start back in 2008 when stocking shelves on the upper East side to pay for her fancy graduate degree in English & American Literature at NYU.  She moved to Denver to establish her career and learn as much as she possibly could about this magical world that provided an inlet to other cultures, history, science, economy, agriculture, global cuisine, and community. She attained her WSET Diploma (a globally recognized rigorous wine education program) in 2014 and then, in 2017, Ashley became one of only about 400 Masters of Wine in the world (the only one in the North Star State) through the Institute of Masters of Wine.

Ashley has done a little bit of everything from retail and distribution to imports and academia. Her favorite, though, has been getting her hands dirty winemaking in Burgundy (Domaine Dujac), Napa (Screaming Eagle), and even trying a little of her own in Willamette among friends. She moved to Stillwater in 2020 and is thrilled to be able to finally get to know the community better through her favorite beverage. This is her life‘s dream to have a wine shop that offers classes and events around organic, artisan family wines from around the world.  Please visit her adorable wine shop at 823 4th St. S, Unit 200, Stillwater.  Just above Sara's Tipsy Pies Bakery.

Event is Wednesday, December 10th, 5:30 - 7:30 pm at our Lake Elmo Store.

This is an instructor-led class, taught by Master of Wine and owner of So What Wine, Ashley Hausman Lohmer.
